Netflix has officially opened five more studios at its Tres Cantos production hub in Madrid.
Netflix’s first production facility in Europe, Tres Cantos now houses 10 stages, production offices, makeup, hair and wardrobe areas. Earlier this year, Netflix opened a state of the art post production facility at Tres Cantos with 30 new rooms.
The site is currently home to hit Netflix series Élite led by creator Carlos Montero, as well as the upcoming UK produced series KAOS, and feature film The Society of the Snow from director J.A. Bayona.
Since opening in 2019, Tres Cantos has housed some of Netflix’s biggest productions from Spain including Élite, La Noche Más Larga, Valeria and the global hit Money Heist.

Netflix is producing over 30 titles in Spain in 2022 including Élite, Bienvenidos A Edén, Amor De Madre, A Través Mi Ventana and Soy Georgina.
The launch event was attended by María Ferreras, Netflix’s Global Head of Partnerships and Business Development and heard from Verónica Fernández, Director of Series for Spain and Portugal and M-K Kennedy, Vice President Production Europe. Ms. María González Veracruz, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, also addressed attendees about the state of the audio-visual industry in Spain.
To conclude the day, Spanish creatives Álex Pina, Esther Martinez Lobato, Hermanos Pastor, Laura Sarmiento, Núria Valls, and Oriol Paulo took the stage for a panel on “New Stories, Made in Spain” to discuss their experiences working at Tres Cantos.
