Outside broadcast firm Arena Television has ceased trading after more than 30 years in business.
Staff were reportedly informed of the news last week. Arena’s website and social accounts have since been shut down.
Founded in 1988, Arena became one of the UK’s largest independently owned OB businesses, with clients spanning sport, news, live events and entertainment.
Arena’s key contracts reportedly include England international football, the FA Cup, One-day Cricket Internationals, Six Nations Rugby, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and European Darts.
In 2005, Arena launched Europe’s first HD truck, later embracing 4K in 2016 when it invested in three trucks with a flexible IP-based production infrastructure.
Earlier this year showcased to IBC365 its remote coverage of the FA Cup Final from Wembley from a production centre at its HQ in Redhill, Surrey.
Arena’s sister company, Arena Aviation, which provides aerial filming services, has also ceased trading.
