UK producers’ alliance Pact has elected Red Planet Pictures joint managing director Alex Jones as its new vice-chair. He takes up the post with immediate effect.
Jones has been part of the Red Planet team since its very first production in 2007, and has over 22 years’ experience in scripted TV production.
He is responsible for all the commercial activities of Red Planet Pictures whose shows include ratings hits Death in Paradise, Beyond Paradise, Our House and Sanditon. Jones also sits on the ScreenSkills High End TV council and has been a member of Pact Council since January 2019.

The Vice-Chair term runs until December 2024.
Additionally, six Pact members have been co-opted to Pact Council to ensure that it represents the Pact’s membership. They are:
Julie Baines, founder and producer at Dan Films.
Nicky Bentham, founder and producer at Neon Films.
Thomasina Gibson, freelance producer and director of Heroes Productions.
Billy Macqueen, executive producer and co-managing director of Darrall Macqueen.
Holly Pye, commercial director at Objective Media Group.
Steve Warr, managing director of Raw Cut.
Pact Council, chaired by Raise the Roof Productions’ Jane Muirhead, oversees the work of the trade body, signing off budgets and financial plans, as well as agreeing the organisation’s policies, campaigns, terms of trade and collective agreements.
