RTS unveils nominations for Craft & Design Awards

The Royal Television Society (RTS) has announced the shortlist of nominations for the RTS Craft & Design Awards 2022, sponsored by Apple TV+.

The BBC leads the way with 35 nominations, followed by Sky who receive 13 and ITV with 11 nods.

Landscapers, featuring Olivia Colman, recieved five nominations

Sky Atlantic’s Landscapers receives five nominations, the most nods for one programme overall.

Apple TV+ received three nominations for Prehistoric Planet across the Design – Programme Content Sequences, Effects and Production Design – Entertainment & Non Drama categories, while its hit drama Bad Sisters receives two nominations across both Music categories.

Also celebrating multiple nominations is the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace and ITV’s An Audience With Adele both competing for the Director – Multicamera category alongside BBC’s The Earthshot Prize 2021.

In scripted TV, Sex Education S3, BBC’s The Tourist, Channel 4’s Derry Girls Series 3 and BBC and HBO’s Gentlemen Jack 2 all received multiple nominations in a range of categories.

For the inaugural Production Management category, Karl Legis for Apple TV+’s The Essex Serpent, Laura Djanogly, Jen Bollom and Mei Ye for ITV’s Concert for Ukraine and the Production Management Team for BBC’s Then Barbara Met Alan all received nominations.

Chair of the Awards, Ade Rawcliffe, said: “The RTS Craft & Design nominations rightly illuminate the exceptional talent, range of voices and skills we have in the UK content production industry, and with the introduction of the new Production Management category, which we received fantastic submissions for, we are further extending the reach and recognition these awards provide.”

The awards ceremony will be held on Monday 5 December at the London Hilton on Park Lane and hosted by journalist and television presenter Ranvir Singh.
