MovieLabs will be joined by senior technology executives from four major studios for a panel discussion on their shared vision for the future of the industry. 

Taking place on Thursday 17 November, the session, entitled ‘MovieLabs and Hollywood Studio Technology Leadership 2030 Vision Update’, takes place one year on from the publication of the white paper ‘The Evolution of Media Creation’, which set out the studios’ vision and highlighted the need for the industry to work together on innovative software, hardware and tools to support and enable new ways to create content over the next ten years.

Representatives from non-profit technology research organisation MovieLabs will be Spencer Stephens, Lead Technologist Production Security; Mark Turner, Production Technology Program Director; Jim Helman, CTO; and Richard Berger, CEO. They will be joined by Eddie Drake, Head of Technology at Marvel, part of Disney; Bill Baggelaar, EVP and CTO at Sony Pictures; Mike Wise, SVP and CTO at Universal; and Tony Guarino, EVP Worldwide Tech Ops at Paramount. 

The panel will use this IBC SHOWCASE session to discuss innovations and developments across the three main focus areas which underpin the MovieLabs 2030 Vision: Cloud Fundamentals; Security & Identity and Software Defined Workflows.
