The Shape of Water scooped the Best Picture gong during the 90th Academy Awards with I, Tonya, Three Billboards and Darkest Hour also awarded across the categories.
Leading the acceptances at the Oscars winning Best Picture and Best Director was Guillermo del Toro for The Shape of Water.
The fantasy film also took away awards for Original Music Score and Best Production Design.
Gary Oldman won Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour and Frances McDormand won Best Actress in a Leading Role for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri for her depiction of a grieving mother seeking justice for her daughter’s murder.
In her acceptance speech, she wanted to celebrate female filmmakers asking all nominated women in the audience to stand up.
Sam Rockwell won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Allison Janney for I, Tonya won the Best Supporting Actress.
Dunkirk won three awards on the night for Best Film Editing, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
