Britbox will create a collection of the biggest and best British television, with people willing to pay for quality.
That was the view shared by Britbox president Soumya Sriraman who discussed the plans for the BBC and ITV streaming collaboration, which is set to launch soon.
Britbox will make legacy content from the BBC and ITV available to British viewers for £5.99 a month, but Sriraman says the new OTT platform will offer so much more.
“It is to create a destination that we’ve been successful in creating in the US,” she said. ”We think that ideas travels and people will pay for for convenience and the association with quality.”
Sriraman also discussed the launch of Apple’s new streaming service, what shows are most successful for Britbox and future announcements.
