Martin Prins, product owner, Media Distillery
Martin Prins is product owner at Media Distillery, an Amsterdam based startup specialised in using AI to understand what’s inside video. With an R&D-background in broadcast and streaming media, Martin is currently leading the development of Media Distillery’s content analysis-based products for broadcasters and TV operators, including EPG Corrections, Episodic Images, Snackable Content and Advanced Advertising.
Martin has over 10 years of experience in the broadcast and media industry. Before joining Media Distillery, Martin worked as senior media consultant at TNO, where he helped broadcasters and operators enable and adopt OTT-delivery, HbbTV, UltraHD and Targeted Advertising.
Susanne Rakels, senior manager discovery & personalisation, Liberty Global
Susanne Rakels is senior manager discovery & personalisation at Liberty Global. She started her career in the publishing industry and then made a move to consultancy and business development for the telecommunications and (multi)media industry.
She has more than 25 years of experience, of which she worked almost 14 years at Liberty Global in various roles. Susanne is currently responsible for the strategy and development of Content Discovery and Personalisation products for all markets from Liberty Global.
Ruhel Ali, founder/director, Grey Media
Ruhel is an accomplished product and business development executive with 15 years’ experience working within the digital broadcast and interactive media industry.
Over the last 6 years, Ruhel has built a diverse portfolio as a consultant, working on outstanding products and TV experiences, including Sky Q, Freesat Freetime and Vodafone TV.
Prior to consulting, Ruhel worked at the BBC in several roles in Business Development and Product Management for TV-based products, namely BBC iPlayer and the BBC Red Button service.
Ruhel is currently working with the Bundesliga Digital Sports unit to help leverage the use of the cloud, video and statistics to improve the experience for Football fans.
