Entries are now open for broadcasters and individual crafts people across all competitive categories for the Royal Television Society Craft & Design Awards 2022.
The 29 categories, ranging from Effects to Lighting and Multicamera, aim to recognise the varied skills and complex processes involved in programme making. Past awards have celebrated the industry’s most talented individuals behind works such as RED Production Company’s It’s a Sin, Working Title Television’s We are Lady Parts and the BBC’s Glastonbury Festival: Live at Worthy Farm.
The RTS Special Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award will also be presented at the ceremony - to be held later this year. Suggestions for these prestigious awards are welcomed for outstanding individuals and teams who deserve special recognition.
New award category for 2022
2022 will also see a brand-new category for Production Management, with entries accepted from any genre of programming, to celebrate excellence in managing a complex project from the ground up whilst working towards a creative vision.
Other categories recognise a range of crafts from Production Design, Sound and Photography.
Chair of the Awards, Ade Rawcliffe, said: “Over the past year it has been incredible to watch the industry bounce back and recover, creating impactful and innovative high-quality content that is a testament to the UK television community. The RTS Craft & Design Awards is a great opportunity to celebrate this extraordinary work and the widest range of talent; and we are very much looking forward to welcoming entries for this year.”
Budget and time scale of the project, as well as diversity in the industry and the wider community will be carefully considered with each entrant.
All entries must have been first transmitted between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, and the deadline for submissions is 9 September 2022.
