Dan Grabiner, Amazon Studios’ Head of Originals for the UK and Northern Europe, is leaving to set up his own production company, Orchard Studios.
Grabiner joined Amazon Studios in 2019, firstly building its UK unscripted slate, before stepping-up to lead the UK, and adding Northern Europe to his remit last year. He has worked on shows including The Rig, The Devil’s Hour, All Or Nothing and Clarkson’s Farm.
Tara Erer will take over as Amazon Studios’ Head of Originals for the UK and Northern Europe.

Erer has been part of Amazon’s local originals team for four years, working in London for one and leading the centralised original movies team, working with teams around the world on titles like Culpa Mia, Sayen and Argentina 1985.
Grabiner will leave in mid-October to launch premium factual label Orchard Studios with former The Garden Chief executive Nicola Hill.
In an internal email, Amazon Studios Head of International Originals James Farrell said: “I know his intellect, his EQ, his creative instincts and his sense of humour will serve him well in his upcoming venture. The team in the UK has been on such an incredible run lately with The Rig, The Devil’s Hour, All or Nothing, Clarkson’s Farm and The Grand Tour, to upcoming titles like Wilderness, 007: Road to a Million - the analogy I find most fitting is that when a team has had that kind of success, it’s bound to lose one of its star players.”
