Rise to host Speak with Confidence workshop

Speak with Confidence is a new workshop at IBC2026 hosted by training and support network Rise – Women in Broadcasting, delivered in partnership with Sony Europe and Sylvia Cohen Communications.

Led by communications expert Sylvia Cohen, the interactive two-hour session forms part of the Rise Upskill programme and is designed to help women in broadcast and media technology overcome nerves and speak with greater confidence, authenticity, and impact.

Deborah Cross, Operations Director at Rise Women in Broadcast, said: “Rise wants to give women the practical tools to help with public speaking”

Deborah Cross, Operations Director at Rise Women in Broadcast, said: “So many talented women in this industry hold themselves back from the stage, not because they lack expertise, but because they lack confidence or training. This workshop gives them the practical tools to change that.”

The workshop will be hosted in Room E105 of the RAI, on Sunday 13 September from 09:30 to 11:45.

Rise has also relaunched its Safe Car initiative for 2026, once again supported by Lawo. The scheme offers women and allies attending IBC a reliable, trusted transport option when travelling home from the show, particularly during late-night hours when personal safety concerns can be heightened. This year, Rise has simplified the service further: rather than directing attendees to fixed pick-up points, users will be able to call a dedicated phone number directly to book a Safe Car, wherever they are on site.

Alongside these initiatives, Rise will host a series of events at IBC, including a breakfast with Arqiva, happy hours with Appear and Cuez, and a session on the Ignite Stage.
