Oscar winning director Kevin Macdonald and his production team tell IBC365 how they overcame poor quality 1980s home video archive to bring his latest feature doc, Whitney – about the iconic but troubled star - to the big screen.

Director Kevin Macdonald had complete creative freedom to delve into the life of the late Whitney Houston for his new documentary Whitney.

The Whitney Houston estate and Patricia Houston, the late performer’s sister–in- law and long-time manager, promised Macdonald and his producers unparalleled access and total editorial control.

Macdonald, who won the best documentary Oscar for One Day In September in 2000, set about following the story with impunity, wherever it took him.
