The 4-channel encoder presented by SAPEC at IBC last year has been upgraded, and is centre stage on the company’s stand. It now features eight SD/HD channels supporting H.264 and MPEG-2, while up to four SD/HD channels provide support for HEVC.
Beyond this, users can now select whether each channel is an encoder or a decoder.
The Laguna Media Processor will be upgradable via software licenses, allowing customers to choose and pay for only the functionality they need at any given time – with the option of a straightforward upgrade. An internal multiplexer allows working with both SPTS streams and MPTS streams. The possibility to integrate a modulator (DTT or DVB-S/S2) for multichannel uplink applications is also provided.
Javier Verduch Golfe, business development manager for Europe, said: “With the new range of possibilities that Laguna provides to broadcasters, we expect to see the Laguna Media Processor chosen for many existing and new contribution networks since it helps in reducing both capex and opex. It allows broadcasters to transport more content with less hardware - hardware that can be reconfigured and upgraded easily by software.”
SAPEC is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 1.F71.
