Business publishing, events and research group Informa has ceased publication of two of its respected television industry trade publications, Digital TV Europe (DTVE) and Television Business International (TBI).
DTVE closed and stopped publishing new content on Friday (June 7) after 40 years of publication. DTVE also ran industry awards programme, the VideoTech Innovation Awards, which will also cease, as will the recently launched Media & Entertainment Leaders Summit. It was originally launched as Cable & Satellite Europe before morphing into Digital TV Europe.
After 35 years of publication, TBI also closed on Friday. Over its history, TBI has documented everything from the emergence of pay TV to the decline of linear broadcasting and the ongoing drama caused by the shift to streaming.
